Lifestyle Change

If you want to lose weight, then you will have to make a lifestyle change, there’s simply no way around it. Sorry. You are going to have to make some changes in your personal habits and you are going to have to stick with those changes to keep the weight off.

I know that wasn’t what you wanted to hear, but, it’s true.

Making certain changes are necessary, especially if you are getting older, like me. I’m 51 and have really done a number on my body. From the cheeseburgers to all of the beer, I should be dead. But, that’s another story for another blog.

Talk you your physician before attempting any weight loss diet, especially an extreme weight loss method to be sure you are healthy enough for exercise.

Lifestyle changes are hard to make especially if you’ve been eating the same foods and partying the same way all of your life. Now this is going to make some of you angry, but it’s necessary if you want to lose weight and create an extreme weight loss lifestyle.

What Not To Do For An Extreme Weight Loss Lifestyle

Stop Drinking Alcohol

Stop eating fast food

Stop missing out on sleep

I know the big one here is “Stop Drinking Alcohol”, but you probably already know that alcohol has way too many calories and it dehydrates the body. You will want to stay hydrated as much as possible for this method to work.

What You Should Do On An Extreme Weight Loss Lifestyle

Drink at least 8 glasses of water each day. This will help to keep you full and hydrated.

Eat more proteins and vegetables

Workout at least 5 days a week. You don’t have to workout 3 hours every day. 45 minutes to an hour each day will suffice.

Add at least 2 days of cardio workouts per week

Ok, that’s it for the eating habits and workouts. Now comes the hard part.

Here are a few tips to help you make the lifestyle changes needed for extreme weight loss.

You will need to taper off slowly on some of these so you don’t get overwhelmed.

If you like to party and drink, you are in for some hard times. No matter if you are a social drinker or a full blown alcoholic, you will need to taper off the booze slowly or suffer from withdrawls…

My best tip for this…drink at home and don’t be in such a hurry, also don’t start your drinking until 10 or 11 pm. The less time you have to pound down the drinks the less time you will have to actually drink before you get tired and go to bed.

If you are a binge eater try this little tip…eat small meals and a lot of them. Eat 6 to 7 small meals. By eating more you will eat less.

If you are a picky eater, then you are simply going to have to try new things. Part of the reason you are fat is because you are not eating at the same time every day and you are only eating foods that are probably not that healthy.

Follow up to the tip above…

Buy smaller plates. Studies have shown that if your plates are smaller the amount of food on your plate will look like it is larger, thus fooling your brain into thinking that you have eaten your normal amount.

These tips are just suggestions and you can follow them or not. I don’t like telling anyone that they shouldn’t drink or have fun. But, if you truly want to lose weight you will stop drinking, or at least slow down a bit.

Lifestyle changes are hard to make. This is a process that takes time and requires at least some support from family and friends. Once you have made the decision to committing to this lifestyle change, the really hard part is sticking with it. The best thing you can do is plan out this lifestyle change. Don’t make huge unrealistic goals, make sure that each goal you set is achievable easily and builds on to the next. Do this and you will be successful.
